April 15, 2008 Board Meeting Agenda Item #29 Title APPROVAL OF THE RIVERVIEW HIGH SCHOOL FIELD TRIP TO APPLETON, WISCONSIN, ON MAY 23, 2008 THROUGH MAY 26, 2008 Description The purpose of this trip is for the student to compete in the National CFL Debate Tournament.  The student was selected by competing successfully at the CFL Regional Tournament.  The debate procedure involves many hours of research, critical thinking skills for analysis of arguments, the ability to use superior speaking skills, and writing skills for effective affirmative and negative speeches.
